Because a question can change everything.

As we evolve and get closer to what you want most, we are redefining our value to you.

Your support and encouragement has been outstanding. When you take the time to respond to a question I’ve asked or a challenge I’ve posed, you allow me to fine tune what I write, how I write it, and how it impacts you and the world.

So, going forward, I am officially changing the name of my blog to dadadada …

“Tuesday is “Q” Day.”

Why?

Because “Q” stands for “question.”

Because a question can spur your creativity.

Because questions are vital for your growth.

Because a question can change everything.

Because a question can help you do better in your business.

Questions get you closer to your desires.

So here is your first “Q.”

What do you want most for your business?

This is often not as easy to answer as we think it should be. Mostly because we know what we need to improve, fix, change etc.

We spend considerable time on thinking about what we don’t want, don’t like, and need to improve.

We can address those things too if we filter it through how it gets us closer to what we want.

So let me ask you again, and will you please email me with your answers?

What do you want most for your business?

A couple of secondary questions to spur your thinking?

Is it more sales?  If so, how many?

Is it additional team members? If so, how many and in what roles?

Is it less hours working? If so, what is your ideal?

Do you see how these questions can help you clarify goals and actually develop a plan of action?

Okay, your turn.

Please email with your answers. I care about you, and want to make certain I’m addressing what you need.

And please help spread the word about this blog so more people can spur their thinking, become kinder to each other, and do business better.

It’s an honor to serve you.

Where do you live from?

Where do you live from?

Set your intention.

Ask yourself:

Do you live from the inside out or the outside in?

Which place seems most important?

We interrupt our regularly scheduled Leader Feature

We interrupt our regularly scheduled Leader Feature to check in with you.

Does it feel like the world flipped over on it’s side this past weekend? Wow!

Our focus is YOU.

To that end let’s do two things:

  1. Connect with each other. You are not alone. We are here, and so are the other members. Use this network to connect during these isolating times. The WIPIN Members-Only Facebook page is a place to share your challenges, ideas and questions. Post there and, more importantly, respond there; members are doing great things.
  2. Celebrate together when this is over. To that end, we’ve postponed the magazine. The Top Women in the Pet Industry Spring Magazine has been pushed out at least one month. The idea is to allow the businesses affected by this disruption to get back on track and, when this has passed, to use the magazine to celebrate that they are still here to serve their customers. Let your list celebrate with you when it’s published.

We, the women of WIPIN who serve you care, and are committed to doing whatever we can to keep your spirits up, your communities safe, and to continue to remind you that This Too Shall Pass!

Are you feeling fearful?

According to my trusty online dictionary, fear is defined as an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.

Does this describe the current state of affairs or what?

Are you feeling fearful? If you are, and it’s likely you may be, is this the state you want to remain in? Are you ready to shift to new thinking that will help you?

I am not afraid.

The reason is because being afraid of something I have no control over gives my control away and makes me feel powerless, helpless and vulnerable.

My goal is to stay healthy.

Note I did not say that my goal is to not catch the virus, nor is my goal to stay away from others.

This is a very important distinction and one that may help you today, and through this very interesting time in history.

If it’s true, and I believe it is, that we get what we focus on, then making certain you are focused to your advantage is key.

Focusing on the virus — on how many have it, how many it’s killed, what has been cancelled and who it’s hurting brings all those things closer to you. They become top of mind; they are fear inducing.

If on the other washed hand, you focus your mind, heart and body on staying healthy, the way you act and interact shifts to protect you.

Here are a couple of things to keep you focused on what you want to feel instead of fear:

  1. Turn off the media. You already know everything you need to know about the virus, and you have no control over any of it. Stop reading and watching the bombardment about it and you’ll find you feel healthier mentally.

  2. Focus on what you can control.

  3. Shift your thinking to something like “I’m healthy and doing all I can to stay that way.”

  4. Be mindful of your words.

  5. Be conscious of your actions. Keep washing those hands!

Know this too shall pass – and it will.

Think, speak and spread only light. We are human, we are creative and industrious and very hardy. We will overcome anything and everything given time. This has been proven over and over through centuries of living and evolving.

When someone I am speaking to wants to focus on all the bad news so prevalent right now, I find when I gently ask them, “Are you healthy?” and “Are you keeping yourself diligent?” they usually reply “yes” and then we can shift to other things that are far more interesting.

My goal is to stay healthy, especially in my mind. What’s your goal?
